I've read a number of WWII spy books that took place in Europe, but this was the first one I'd read where the action happened mostly in the United States. It's made me curious to learn more about the Bund (a German-American organization) and it's activities before and during the war.

Good plot but predictable bad guy.

At any rate, Nessheim is dispatched to infiltrate the pro-Nazi German-American Bund organization - and in so doing discovers a plot targeting the White House. Fear Itself is the 1st in a series projected to run right through the end of World War II, so readers who have finished everything by Alan Furst and are looking for more will be pleased by this intelligent historical spy novel."
